Headquarters of the Scientific and Information Center of the Embassy of Hungary in Moscow
The listed building was built in 1887-1888 on Povarskaya Street. The Polish mission used the building in 1931-1934, after which it was transferred to the Hungarian Embassy. The Hungarian Cultural Center operated in the building starting in 1999. Within the framework of the renovation plan, the specialists performed a complex set of tasks to restore the building to its original appearance. To achieve this, the lost monument protection details were restored based on archival research, and the remaining details were restored with appropriate expertise. In the interiors, professionals removed some elements added later, such as the attic staircase. The original facade, windows, parquet, fireplace, and cornices were restored. Great attention was paid during the work to the restoration of the internal stucco.
