Refurbishment and building of ambulance stations

TECHNICAL CONTENT

The purpose of refurbishment the ambulance stations was to raise the quality of the service through making the facilities more dynamic.  In each case, environmental and financial sustainability had to be taken into account. The architectural features enable a functional operation of the facilities and a fast and easy mobilisation of the ambulance vehicles, following industry regulations.

IMPLEMENTING

The purpose of modernising the ambulance stations was to reduce response times and improve sustainability at the same time. A cost effective running of the new, dynamic stations is facilitated by modernised energy supply systems and added heat insulation. The costs saved this way on utility bills could now be used for further improvements of service quality.

CURIOSITIES

The project was financed from EU funds and involved extending the network of the ambulance stations with 22 new and 60 dynamic stations, modernising the stations and improving the technical standards of the service.
