Exciting news from Budapest Airport!

The annual air cargo capacity is about to witness a significant increase, going from 250,000 tons to 300,000 tons. We are thrilled to share that the 3E International team played a crucial role as the technical supervisor for the expansion project, contributing to its resounding success. In the past year, Budapest Airport achieved remarkable milestones in cargo transportation, with capacity growing by nearly 50% in just over three years.
But that’s not all! Further development is currently underway. The expansion plans entail adding 6,700 square meters to the ground-floor area of the cargo facility, accompanied by the creation of a 2,200-square-meter office section on the galleries. With these ambitious projects, Budapest Cargo City aims to establish itself as the leading air cargo hub in the region.
Budapest Airport is committed to continuous growth and development. Among the major projects on the horizon are the opening of the parking lot in front of Terminal 2, set to take place in its previous location during the summer. Additionally, there are plans in motion for the opening of Terminal 1 to accommodate passenger traffic by 2026. Not stopping there, preparations are already underway for the highly anticipated Terminal 3 project.
